Brighton High School Ranks Among Top 25 Public Schools in State

Brighton High School was recently ranked among the best in Michigan. The annual US News & World Report High Schools ranks the high school 21st in the state, as well as 777th in the nation. With more than 21,000 public high schools in all 50 states, that’s pretty impressive.

According to the Brighton Patch, the top 25 schools were determined based on things like graduation rates and standardized testing. Brighton students perform among the best in the state, as well as in the top percentiles in the nation. Not only that, but Brighton students have gone on to perform well in college as well.

“Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college,” according to U.S. News & World Report, which looked at curriculum, test scores and student demographics.

The number one high school in the US was the School for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas, Texas. The number one school in Michigan was the International Academy in Bloomfield Hills, which also ranked number nine overall. Nonetheless, we here at Brighton Honda couldn’t be more proud of our local high school students. Not only that, but the faculty and staff also deserve recognition for their ability to teach and inspire students.

2017 Accord Hybrid Design: Unparalleled Style

The 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid is getting some exciting upgrades including design changes and technology additions. This new model gets 49 mpg in the city, which is impressive even for a hybrid. The new Accord Hybrid is bound to be a great car for virtually any driver.

According to Forbes, the 2017 Accord Hybrid design will feature a revised front and rear fascia. This includes a more pronounced grille, with an expansive look and bright accents. It also has LED lighting—with Daytime Running Lighting (DRL)—and fog lights to add a sporty appeal. The Hybrid also gets unique blue accents and light housings, as well as distinct colors for this model.

“The Accord has always been one of the sportier vehicles in the midsize sedan segment, and even though it wears a ‘green’ label, the Hybrid features several elements that continue to bolster that trend,” said auto writer Karl Brauer at Forbes.

The Accord Hybrid design will also have a more rigid and lightweight body thanks to ultra-high-strength steel and an all-aluminum hood. Amplitude Reactive Dampers also work to control steering and handling, giving you better response. Best of all, the lithium-ion battery system has been shrunk over 30 percent, which increases space for cargo and passengers. There’s nothing quite like the new Accord Hybrid design.
