You love your Honda car, but did you know the overall Honda Motor Company has a long lineup of products? We’ll take a look at some of the other things they produce and answer the question, “What does Honda make?”
Motorcycles. After automobiles, motorcycles are one of Honda’s most popular products. Honda has been producing motorcycles since 1955, but first came to the United States in the 1960s.
Power equipment. Honda has a full lineup of power equipment that ranges from engines, lawn mowers, pumps, generators, and various outdoor small power tools (hedge trimmers, blowers, etc.).
Robots. For decades has been working on building robots that can work alongside humans. The most recent build is ASIMO, which can climb stairs, walk, talk, dance, and do other human actions.
Aircraft. In 2006, Honda branched out to form the Honda Aircraft Company, which now produces the HondaJet, a small business jet.
ATV. Honda offers a lineup of four-wheeled all-terrain vehicles.
Engines. Of course Honda produces engines for its own vehicles, but many other manufacturers use Honda engines in their vehicles. In the 2010 Indianapolis 500, all 33 cars were powered by Honda engines.
When you crave a vehicle with stunning design, great engineering, and excellent fuel efficiency, be sure to consider the redesigned 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid. Coming out this spring, this hybrid features a more powerful and more efficient two-motor hybrid powertrain. This hybrid system delivers class-leading EPA-estimated fuel efficiency at 49 mpg in the city.
Not only will the new Accord Hybrid be more efficient, but it is more powerful too, with 212 horsepower combined.
“The new Honda Accord Hybrid is the ultimate Accord – the most refined, technologically sophisticated and, of course, most fuel efficient in the lineup,” said John Mendel, Executive Vice President of the American Honda Motor Co., Inc., in a statement. “With Accord already America’s most popular car three years running and the best-selling midsize car to younger buyers, we think this new hybrid model will add considerable momentum for the Honda brand.”
Along with its powertrain upgrades, the 2017 Accord Hybrid comes with the latest in-car technology, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the advanced Honda Sensing suite of safety features.

Can you believe that summer is right around the corner? Now that May is here, you might be starting to plan your summer getaways and family vacations. But, before you hit the road for your much-deserved time off, make sure you prepare your car for summer.
Here are a few things to get inspected to make sure your car is road-trip ready.
Air conditioning. As the temperatures rise, you don’t want to be without your air conditioning. Have it inspected to make sure it is working in optimal condition.
Cooling system. The biggest cause of summer breakdowns is an overheated car. Your car’s cooling system should be inspected, flushed, and refilled about every two years.
Tires. Examine your tires to check for any signs of abnormal wear, inadequate tread depth, or signs of cracks. If your car pulls to one side, you likely need an alignment.
Battery. The extreme heat of summer can wreak havoc on a battery. Have it tested to make sure it has enough juice left to make it through the summer.
Windshield wipers. If your windshield wipers are leaving streaks or have cracks in the blades, it’s time for a new set.
Schedule a service appointment today at Brighton Honda and our trained service technicians can make sure your car is ready for the summer ahead.
Now that winter is finally behind us, it’s time to draw your attention to the driving safety concerns of spring weather. The warmer temperatures may prevent snow, but that doesn’t mean that spring is devoid of driving challenges. Check out these spring driving safety tips, before you hit the road this year:
Keep your eyes peeled for pedestrians, bicyclists, pets, and wild animals, all of which are more likely to be found on the road this time of year.
Honda does a lot of things well. One thing in particular that the automaker does extremely well is SUVs. Honda makes not one, not two, but three awesome SUVs. Their skills were recently recognized by US News & World Report, which named Honda the 2016 Best SUV Brand.
The Honda CR-V was refreshed in 2014. If sales continue the way they are, the CR-V will be the best-selling SUV in America for the fourth consecutive year.
The Honda HR-V was only introduced just this past spring, and the new SUV was an instant hit. In fact, together with the CR-V and recently redesigned Pilot, total sales of Honda SUVs is over a half million through October. That’s up 13.6% since October of 2014.
Jamie Page Deaton, the managing editor of US News & Report, remarked on his publication’s decision to award Honda with the 2016 SUV Brand of the Year title, saying, “The HR-V, CR-V, and Pilot are all consistently ranked at the top of their respective classes, as automotive journalists are impressed with the utility, comfort and family-friendly features that all three offer. No matter what class SUV shoppers are searching in, Honda has a model worth considering.”
Honda’s ‘Power of Dreams’ Ad aims to express Honda’s commitment to and history of innovation and courage to imagine big things.
In its newest ‘Power of Dreams’ ad, Honda uses paper, hand-drawings, and stop-motion animation to pay tribute to the brand’s history and wide range of products – and it’s way more fascinating than it sounds. The ad first debuted during the NFL on CBS Sunday games, and has captivated audiences thanks to its striking ability to weave together animated drawings to tell the automaker’s story.
The ad, called “Paper,” features about 3,000 drawings and uses stop-motion technology to bring them to life.
“The goal is for the marketing itself to become a demonstration of Honda thinking and all the people that touch our wide range of products along the way,” said Tom Peyton, Assistant Vice President of Marketing for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. in a statement “This commercial stands for the courage and conviction to imagine and make dreams a reality and speaks to Honda’s innovative nature and respect for personal achievement and contributions.”
Honda’s ‘Power of Dreams’ ad shows that Honda isn’t your run-of-the-mill automaker, but instead prides itself on its ability to engineer high-tech, premium quality products across a range of industries.
