2018 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid Earns Best-in-Class All-Electric Range

2018 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid
Meet The Honda Clarity

The 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid recently ranked among the top in its class for its all-electric range. The announcement came after the EPA released fuel economy testing details, stating that among all mid-size plug-in hybrids, the Honda Clarity could go the furthest on a single charge. Drivers of the Clarity Plug-In Hybrid can go 47 miles on pure electricity—more than enough for the average driver to commute to work and back.

340 Miles On Gas, Plus 110 On Electricity

According to The News Wheel, the 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid has seating for up to five people and an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 110 MPGe.* Under the hood is a 1.5-liter engine that powers an electric motor. You can go up to 340 miles on a single tank of gas, and the 17-kWh battery pack can recharge in just 2.5 hours.

Seats Up To Five

“We think the combination of a class-leading 47 miles of all-electric driving range rating and a large, luxurious 5-pasenger package will give us an advantage in the plug-in hybrid game,” said Ray Mikiciuk, assistant vice president of Honda Auto Sales at American Honda Motor Co. “The Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid represents the dawn of a new era, setting the path to a new generation of Honda products that will bring electrified technology into the mainstream.”

181 Horsepower

In addition to great fuel economy, the new 2018 Clarity Plug-In Hybrid produces 181 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. That means you get great gas mileage without sacrificing power—a perfect combination. Learn more about the Honda Clarity at Brighton Honda in Brighton, MI.

Beautiful Fall Road Trips in Michigan

Michigan Road Trip - Brighton Honda

Michigan is one of the most beautiful states in the country, and it’s especially pretty in the fall when the leaves are changing. If you’re looking for a fun way to spend the weekend, here are some of the most colorful fall road trips in Michigan you can during the autumn months.

Whether you just want a quick trip or you want to be on the road for hours, there’s a road trip for you in Michigan. For short trippers, there are trips under an hour, such as the 20-minute Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Keep it short, or stop at any of the dozen suggested spots along the way.

Short Trips

This is just one of many short drives; another is the 45-minute trip on Route 2 from St. Ignace to Naubinway that goes over the Cut River Bridge, the Tunnel of Trees on M-119 (a must-see in fall), and the Black River National Forest Scenic Byway, which passes Rainbow Falls.

If you prefer something mid-range, around an hour or two, try the River Road National Scenic Byway, which starts out right on Lake Huron and goes by the Foote Pond Overlook. There’s also the Copper Country Trail National Byway and the Old Mission Peninsula on M-37.

Day Trips

Finally, if you want to make a day of it, drive down the Sunrise Coast, also known as the Pure Michigan Byway, and see Tawas Point, the Lake Huron shoreline, and the Black River Hills.
