Now that winter is finally behind us, it’s time to draw your attention to the driving safety concerns of spring weather. The warmer temperatures may prevent snow, but that doesn’t mean that spring is devoid of driving challenges. Check out these spring driving safety tips, before you hit the road this year:
- Keep your eyes peeled for pedestrians, bicyclists, pets, and wild animals, all of which are more likely to be found on the road this time of year.
- Be wary of spring showers, particularly just after the rain begins, which is when hydroplaning is most likely.
- If you’re caught in the rain, reduce your speed, and never drive through a body of standing water; just 12 inches of water can sweep your car away.
- Re-stock any emergency supplies that you may have used during winter, and if you don’t have an emergency kit – make one!
